She made her acting debut last year with comedy drama Faltu. And now, ex-beauty queen Puja Gupta has bagged a big role in Saif Ali Khan’s production Go Goa Gone. She will be seen opposite Saif and the other male lead, Kunal Khemu, in the film. “Yes, it’s really exciting to work with a star like Saif Ali Khan. And honestly speaking, I couldn’t have asked for anything better in my second film,” chuckles the newbie, who was the winner of the Miss India Universe title in 2007.
She also went on to bag a place among the top ten contestants at the Miss Universe pageant in Mexico.

Interestingly, Puja, along with her other cast members, hit the popularity charts with singer Hard Kaur’s chartbuster Chaar baj gaye… from her debut movie. And now, she plans to request makers of Go Goa Gone also to include a song by Hard Kaur in the film.

“For all of us in Faltu, the song Chaar baj gaye… did really well. We all are proud of it. Otherwise too, I really like Hard Kaur as a singer and person. We all know that people really enjoy her songs a lot,” she says.

Go Goa Gone is a zombie comedy directed by Krishna DK and Raj Nidimoru, who delivered a surprise hit Shor In The City last year. The film’s shooting has already begun in Goa.

Buzz is that Saif also plans to include an item number in the film. He will reportedly shoot a promotional video for the film after Agent Vinod releases.

It’s believed that since it is a comic zombie film, the video will also have a similar-themed backdrop. The song might also have funny lyrics.

Composer duo Sachin-Jigar, who composed music for Shor In The City, will be directing music for the film. The film is expected to hit theatres by the end of this year.

Saif Ali Khan is leaving no stone unturned for his film, ‘Go Goa Gone’. Being a producer, he is going all out to garner maximum attention for his film. The actor-producer is all set to shoot a promotional video for the film. Says a source close to the project, “Since it is a comic zombie film, the video will also be themed with a zombie backdrop. The song is supposed to have some fun lyrics.”

‘Go Goa Gone’ has also got an addition to the cast. While Kunal Khemu and Vir Das were already confirmed, Anand Tiwari, who was last seen in the lead in ‘Jo Dooba So Paar’, will also be a part of the project. The only female in the cast is a newbie, an Indian girl from New York. She is a Broadway theatre actress and is currently being kept under wraps.

The film is about a bunch of guys who head to Goa for a vacation but get trapped between zombies. The project that went on floors in mid October is currently being shot at Mumbai. In this first schedule, the shoot will take place all over the city and later move to Goa where the action and other scenes will be canned.

The shooting of Saif Ali Khan’s “”Go, Goa, Gone”” which was to start from Oct 23 has ben put on hold for a week following a freak accident that involved Kunal Khemu, who is a part of this zombie flick.

Turns out, Kunal was at home with a few friends when a glass door he was sitting next to, shattered and shards of glass severly injured his hand. Informs his manager Abbas Sayyed, “”Khemu was sitting right next to a glass door and a friend banged it shut after entering the room. The glass broke and several pieces went inside Kunal’s right hand. There were superficial as well as internal injuries and Kunal had to undergo a minor operaion.

The wound has 16 stitches and Kunal is in the hospital right now in Mumbai. The film has been delayed by a week since we wanted Kunal to become absolutely fine before he begins to shoot.””

With just two films, 99 and SHOR IN THE CITY, the director duo, Krishna DK and Raj Nidimoru, are a name to reckon with and much in demand. In fact, their next venture, GO GOA GONE, is being produced by Saif Ali Khan, under his home banner, Illuminati Films.

While no one has any doubts that Krishna and Raj would do a great job, there are a few who are curious to know why the duo is working with a top mainstream commercial hero like Saif for the first time. When we asked Krishna the same, he told us, “See, it is not that we have intentionally worked with Tusshar, Kunal Khemu and Pitobash in 99 and SHOR IN THE CITY. It was the requirement of the subject. For GO GOA GONE Saif was once again the natural choice, not that we wanted to work with a top star. GGG needed a macho hero like Saif Ali Khan. He is the perfect choice for the role.”

So did Saif say ‘Yes’ right away or did it take a while to be convinced? “While we were relating the script, Saif rolled out laughing,” concludes DK!

Well, we are sure that GO GOA GONE is in very capable hands and we keenly await its release next year to witness the coming together of such talents.
